Who: Stan Uris, Bill Denbrough
What: The Arrival
Where: The Lobby (and beyond!)
When: Last night
Status: Ongoing / Closed
Warnings: TBD
He wasn’t at all sure how he’d gotten here to this big hotel lobby where he’d had to check himself in (after answering the phone behind the desk - he wasn’t sure what had prompted him to do that, either, since it didn’t seem like it should have been any of his business at all).
Stan also wasn’t sure what was going on outside, beyond the fact that it looked Very Wrong and Unnatural and he knew things that he titled with capital letters in his head were generally things to be avoided. Bill had had a point in saying he probably shouldn’t be looking out there. But he wasn’t really sure where else he should be looking either as he stood there, feeling nothing but awkward apprehension at the idea of occupying this big space alone, and waiting on one of his very best friends to come find him.
Or, well — Bill had been one of his very best friends. Twenty seven years ago. He didn’t know who he was now, not really, even if Stanley Uris had been absolutely positive just a few minutes prior what he would be willing to do for the friends he’d considered closest, once. For Bill, who he had made a promise to when he’d been thirteen years old and still scared.
How was he going to face any of them after building up that resolve? Surely, none of them would agree that it would have been the right choice.
