Elektra's gait faltered momentarily. "The one from the... oh." Xian meant Ravi, who Elektra had accused of attacking and murdering her without naming him. She hadn't done it to protect his identity; there was too much pride wrapped up in admitting that a medical examiner could've sneaked up on her and assassinated her in the night.
There was also quite a bit of wounded ego tangled up in admitting the likelier truth - his version, which Elektra had chosen to believe as well. "No. That was an accident." Then why had she gone into the city, at night, knowing what awaited her? She suspected Xian was driving toward something with her questions; the woman was persistent, but she wasn't arbitrary.
Elektra resumed her long strides. "Someone said it would be dangerous. I wanted to see if they were right."
