The new city was like nothing Xian had ever seen before. Its buildings challenged the heavens, reaching up so high that some of them even disappeared into the low-hanging clouds. The wind was vicious but fun, pushing and pulling her this way and that as she flew above it all. As long as the sun was out, she felt safe and warm.
When the sun fell, however, people clamored inside the safety of their tall buildings. Xian too roosted behind the safety of the hotel walls. Vampires and werewolves were beasts not unknown to her. She had come across their kind, or at least similar creatures, in her travels and she knew better than to risk her neck against them.
The same could not be said for the other guests. Including a few she knew all too well.
It was early when she went back out, before most had even started to rise from their rooms. The air was colder than the day before and the breeze pushed against her wings but she pushed back. It would take her awhile to find who she was looking fo-
Oh. She spotted something glinting from one of the roads. Immediately she dove and landed next to it. Ah, so it was Octane's leg. So then, where was Octane? Xian picked up the metal leg, then turned as she heard a noise from one of the closed shops. Approaching, she caught sight of Elektra's long dark hair and scowl. Even though the road was clean, the smell of blood was thick. Elektra looked relatively untouched. So then whose blood tickled her nose?
"Where is he..." Xian asked even though she felt she already knew the answer.
