It was in his blood, and obviously that was why these beasts were so eager to get to him. They just wanted it for themselves. Regardless of his charm and jokes, it wasn't helping the situation at hand- they were running out of street to tread backwards. Honestly, it was one of those things he wasn't particularly regretting. He tried not to do things that he'd regret. Of course, he just worked with what he had.
"Wow, we did so well. Who knew we were such humanitarians." Octane agreed while they were fending of the pecking of the beasts trying to break their defenses, and it was only a matter of time. Especially as the bodies dropped around them. Didn't help in the moment of conflict he did take some claws in his ribs which tore flesh easily. It was unfortunate. He did have a emergency option that he brought. It was his what he was considering his own last ditch effort to get himself to safety, but the stim he had was military grade and not for the healthy. It boosted everything a fighting soldier needed... speed, strength, endurance- at a cost to their over all health. It was why he fought with a small dialysis machine on his belt in the games.
Pulling the syringe out he knew if he gave it to Elektra, she'd fight until she was dead. He took it, he could escape and she was still likely going to die. Then his eyes caught a store front that hadn't gotten closed up in time obviously. The grates would lock once brought down he was sure. Nothing was going to get into her, especially if he led them away a bit. Why try to break into something when there was prey running away, right? It was worth a shot.
"Perdón." Octane muttered as he jammed that needle into his chest. The syringe drained immediately and the effects of the drugs were immediate. "¡OH SÍ, ESO ES LO BUENO!" Octane shouted as he turned and bullrushed Elektra right into the store front. The added strength was perfect as he was able to clear her into safety. Quickly he hopped, grabbing the grates to slam them down with a satisfying clack of the lock engaging. "You'll be safe till morning. I'm going to take the mutts for a run." He gave that reckless wide smile, as his eyes dilated even more from the drug.
And he was off in a flash. Unfortunately, he didn't make it more than a few hundred feet. The furred bodies were on him just as fast as he was fleeing. He was still giving his all in the fight and was absolutely going to take some with him before he was gone. There wasn't fear in dying. He died before. Had a bullet rip through his body or his skull and he was done and being reimprinted. This, this was terrifying. The claws of the beast he only had learned of recently tearing into his flesh was painful. The moment he went to the ground unable to fend off his attackers, he learned that one of his legs was now gone. Not that it would matter if it wasn't for the fact that something was biting into his thigh as his shoulder.
He wouldn't scream. Octavio wasn't going to give them that as he kept trying to fight them off. It wasn't until he realized he was gripping to consciousness barely when he saw the first bit of his insides become outsides. Octane was a brave man. He was an insanely stupid and bullheaded man, but he was brave. Octane screamed the briefest moment in agony before he saw the toothed jaw come at his face.
