But Conrad had come closer and it was Pree's turn to feel concerned. He raised a hand to Conrad's shoulder only it somehow landed on the side of his neck. And oh, there was that gentle flutter of a pulse, the warmth of his skin. "You do seem to be running hot this morning. I hope I haven't passed... whatever this is to you. I'd feel terrible if I did." He meant every word, but he also meant to sound warm and comforting, like someone Conrad would trust to take care of him.
Normally, this didn't extend much further than wanting a good story or two over drinks. But Pree wasn't being entirely normal at present.
