Being bitten was terrifying.. for the first thirty seconds or so. The sensation of needles digging into his skin, the feeling of blood rushing to his arm and out of his body. The intense throbbing of his pulse, the droplets of red that seeped past Pree's mouth and fell to the floor. Watching a close friend do something that was pretty damn inhuman. All of that on top of the adrenaline was exceptionally overwhelming. Until it wasn't.
It kind of tingled after a while. Conrad didn't understand why. Maybe it was some natural thing with vampires: a way of getting their prey to relax and not fight while the vampire fed. Either way, it worked, and it wasn't long before Conrad had settled into an odd sort of calm.
Or maybe he was just really lightheaded. "Pree, Pree, hey --" His free hand reached out, giving his shoulder a squeeze. "I think that's enough.. I'm starting to get dizzy.."
