Yelena was a strangely good mood. It started with making plans for the Avengers family dinner. Trying out recipes last night, with vodka and ice cream and plums, she'd gotten a little carried away and ended up tipsy and giddy and very, very silly. If she was being completely honest with herself, she had really been floating on cloud nine since the day after the dreams ended. Thanks to a heart-to-heart down at the docks having gone as well as it could go, Yelena was content to not question beyond what she already asked and live her life at the hotel to the utmost. Might as well because who knew when a certain maneater was going to show up to throw a wrench into her happiness. But it was clear that not everyone was enjoying the aftermath of recent events as much as she was. Many people were sent home from the hotel with this previous round of disappearances. It left a noticeable mark on the atmosphere of the Crown Plaza. The hallways were a bit more echoey. A felt sense of less people around. While Yelena herself was still bending her mind around the fact that the Steve Rogers she knew also disappeared (even though a version of him unfamiliar to her was still walking around), along with Thor the god from space, she refused to let the impermanence of their general situation get her down for too long. It was partially because of her standing movie nights with 'old Steve' (as she's gotten in the habit of thinking of him as, as opposed to his replacement, 'new Steve') that she wanted to honor the tradition by continuing it. She issued an invitation to Tom when she discovered he never really got a chance to watch movies with his own life circumstances being a limitation. She knew very well how that was and was eager to help him play catch-up, the way she had to for herself when she became free of the Red Room. By the time Tom would arrive downstairs, she already had the movie and the milkshakes set up for them. "Hello!" she greeted. She held up the DVD cover of the romantic comedy she'd suggested they watch. "Are you ready for Crazy, Stupid, Love?" |
