She could sense the disquiet in Enzo's voice, which probably had an awful lot to do with how she'd approached this moment. Bonnie wouldn't hold back on him, though, because if the roles were reversed she knew he was the one person in the world she could count on to be totally honest with her. It was hard finding the words to describe everything that had happened since they visited Elena's tomb, but she did the best she could. Reliving the memories was hell, but she managed it because Enzo was here, right now, fully formed in front of her and she wasn't letting him go. Not again.
When Bonnie reached the end of her tale there were tears staining her cheeks as she looked into the eyes of the man she loved. "They'll tell you I gave up on you," she said softly as she spoke in barely a whisper, "but I didn't. After everything happened I left Mystic Falls and went to Paris," she told him trying to smile through her tears. "I thought if I could see all the places we were going to go together I'd feel closer to you," she gave a tiny shake of her head. "I just wanted you back. And here you are," Bonnie said with a final smile.
