The future was unclear. There was no way of knowing what was going to happen. The hotel operated chaotically. Hades could open up from underneath them and turn them all into monsters. Or they could end up turning into red balloons and float away. It almost felt pointless to try and plan ahead when they could be easily broken. Almost. He had more hope than he did before. For himself, of others. His life had definitely taken more than a few unexpected turns but he wasn't deterred. It was hard to be discouraged by anything when Zemo was sidled up next to him in that robe of his, and almost nothing else, with cheeks the color of a sunrise.
He'd wanted to say something about it. Zemo was blushing. Because of him. It felt like a reward of some kind. He didn't feel like he deserved it but wow, it was amazing how badly he wanted to make him do it again. What was the secret? He wanted to touch them, feel that warmth under his fingers. But his hand only got up halfway Zemo's arm when he mentioned his family. Another rare occurrence. So he hesitated. Zemo's hand on his chest was also really distracting. As was everything else that he was saying.
"For the record? I think I'm going to be happy I'm here too." He leaned into Zemo's hand, pushing against it even. "And you can be as bold as you like." He knew that Zemo had been treading around him softly. More recently than before for reasons he already knew. And he appreciated that space. It proved that Zemo cared about his feelings more than his own. As sweet as that was, he knew how horrible that could feel. He didn't want Zemo to feel like he had to sacrifice himself like that anymore for him.
Or hold things back. Bucky reached out to tug on his robe. It was just an excuse to touch him. "I wouldn't mind hearing about them. Your family. If you ever wanted to talk about them."
