Bucky snorted, a smile at the edge of his mouth. "It could be terrible. You don't know if I snore." He did a little but he knew that Zemo was only teasing him so he knocked their knees together playfully. No, he didn't really believe that this was an unwelcome change. He just didn't want to put the other man out or make him uncomfortable. It wasn't like they had a conversation about him staying here. In fact, the option had never even come up before. Was it a surprise? Yeah, a big one. But not a bad one.
"You've been around as long as I have and seen what I've seen, things stop surprising you after awhile." He shrugged nonchalantly. Moving in with Zemo wasn't the worst thing in the world. In fact, he might have even looked forward to it if given the choice. He was only grieving what he'd left behind. Another choice taken from him. "You learn to roll with the punches and move on. It is what it is and that's that." His nose wrinkled as the words left him. Fuck, he sounded old. Sure as shit, that was the same thing he'd hear from all the old folks when they'd been griping back in his day. It was the same mantra he'd had hammered in his head when he'd been drafted. Acting on surprise could have been the difference between having his head blown off or taking another enemy off the battlefield.
That had been a long time ago though. The war was over. He could afford to let his emotions run a little free.
Zemo was touching his cheek and he realized he'd been gone for a few seconds, his mind somewhere over the rainbow. That little smile that had started before grew a little bigger as he remembered something else. "You surprised me," Bucky admitted. He turned more toward him, allowing the other man to fill his vision and steal his focus. "I didn't think I could ever feel for someone else ..the way I feel about you."
