Mikasa chuckled. "It's nice. This, talking and joking. It doesn't happen a lot at home, with death always in everyone's mind. This place has taken the pressure off. I worried at first, that I left my friends and my unit alone, but I know there's a version of me there with them." She couldn't even imagine a city like that. Even Marley wasn't like that. "I know people here don't seem to understand, but the Titans were mostly mindless and they eat people for no reason, so I get it."
She shrugged. "Maybe it just helps to talk to people who understand. We - soldiers, we're more alike than different, so we understand. I seem to end up talking to people who worked in the field." She nodded. "I'd like to think that I'm that deep, but Arwin was the one to see the crack."
She smirked. "And I'll see if I can take a peek inside." She nodded. "It does. Come on, now, let's go find something else to try. Let's try that bowling place."
