Yelena & Bucky
Yelena was admittedly anxious at the prospect of her fishing lesson. They had the option of postponing it, of course. However, after already getting diverted off-track the first time and then having to postpone the dinner with Natasha and Steve because of current events, she didn't want to another delay. And if she needed to be counted on providing the fish for the dinner, she would like to be a little good at it first.
No, it was more the prospect of getting altogether. She knew from bringing up the idea of dinner that Will felt iffy about socializing with the Avengers. Not necessarily because it was the Avengers, but because he seemed to prefer one-on-one time. Or very small group situations, at most, if he knew them enough to feel comfortable. He already seemed to think they would be very protective of her. The Avengers weren't Yelena's family the way they were Natasha's, but she supposed she's gotten adopted into the fold now that she was here. Back home, she would have been excited to be included. Baby sister was getting to sit at the cool kids' table.
She knew she had no concrete reason to feel strangely about dragging Thor along to the lesson. She knew Bucky was going to be there, too. That's simply how things were right now across the hotel. He was very jovial. Easygoing and good-natured about the whole thing. She could have worse people to be bonded to. It felt a little strange having to shower and change after their sparring session, with Thor just on the other side of her bathroom door, but all things considered they've been navigating things fine.
"I brought snacks," said Yelena, holding up the picnic basket she brought along. "People snacks and dog snacks." She made sure to pack enough for three grown men with large appetites plus herself.
Then comes the part she was most nervous about. Bucky. The Winter Soldier. She hadn't asked Natasha or Steve about him, not wanting to have to field questions about her curiosity, but she felt a certain amount of anxiety about the Super Soldier and former Red Room trainer. She wondered if he would even remember her among the many Widows he was made to fight as part of their training. She told Will that she didn't hold it against him, and she hadn't been lying. But the concerns were still there.
"привет солдат," she nodded with a tight nod, as she set the picnic basket down next to Bucky.
