The best Peter could say about all of this was that he had not screamed when he'd woken that morning and found not Foggy there in the same room as him but Steve Rogers of all people. It was no doubt going to be the biggest accomplishment of the day that he'd managed not to embarrass himself right out of the gate. But he had a feeling that wouldn't hold for long. He'd kind of accepted that maybe he'd embarrass himself around Tony, because well - he was Tony and a genius and Peter was all about that, so holding in the eager enthusiasm that he felt was a lost cause.
Steve though, well Peter felt like maybe he ought to try at the very least. The guy was Captain America after all, it was probably some sort of law that you had to keep cool around him. So he was trying.
"Right yeah, we can totally do this - I mean this is how science works right? You just run in two different directions and see how far you get." He huffed, it wasn't wrong really. Sometimes science really was just throwing something at the wall to see what stuck. This particular plan felt a little more foolhardy than that, but really what else were they gonna do? He could stick around and slowly let his screaming internal monologue slowly seep out past his barriers until there was no holding it back, or he could try and figure out if between the two of them they could get a little bit more space between them.
"Okay, so you just you know go that way, and I'll go this way and we'll see what happens." They were both strong too, so maybe they had a shot, maybe that was a little bit of hopeful thinking, but it wasn't like it was going to hurt anything. "And you know if it starts hurting then let's stop because I mean I might be super but I promise I'm kind of a weenie."
