He supposed this situation could be worse in so many different ways, he could have been tied to someone he couldn't talk to, someone who was truly horrible. But it seemed that fate truly had been looking out for him when it had put him with Dieter. And he was not going to complain about this for even a moment.
Dieter's confession was quiet, but not the sort of surprise it could have been, after all there had been zombies. "We make totems to help with that in my world." He explained, "It's usually something small, something you can carry with you at all times, so that if you ever doubt that the world you are in is real you can check it an know for certain." He told him.
"This world is certainly real, at least that's what my own totem has told me." He wasn't sure that Dieter's world was a dream but this one was real enough.
