Head bent so the spray of water hit the back of his head sending brunette curls to hang at the edge of his face, Will heard the push of the door and patter of paws across the carpeted floor. He supposed they had gathered someone else's dog and brought them back for a chill session in the room. Lost in his thoughts over how to handle the reluctant teaching offer and the subsequent knowledge of Bobby's behaviour toward Abigail and the behaviour of his friend toward Tandy's roommate, he had not realized the human factor amongst the dog sounds until the door shut loudly.
Lifting his head, he turned off the water. Ears waiting for more sounds, he wrapped a towel around his waist and grabbed the knife he had hidden under the sink. The bathroom door opened cautiously, scanning the space before he moved out of the confined space. Seeing Yelena, he held the knife behind his back.
"Yelena? Did the dogs gather you too?" He tried to tease as if he had not been on the ready to attack whatever human had decided to come into his room. His gaze falling on the t-shirt, his brows furrowed. The night he had brought her back blind, Will had been so sure it was some kind of dream or hallucination. Instinctively he covered the scar on his abdomen and casually placed the kitchen knife under a stack of items on the dresser.
