The first strange thing that had happened recently, had obviously been Lois staying the night. Well not just staying the night, they'd fallen into the habit of drifting off together, but always some time during the night she'd be whisked away back to her room and Clark would wake up alone all over again. It was just as unsettling the last time it happened as it had been the first. He'd grown far too used to waking up beside Lois most mornings after years together. And this place taking that from them was just one more unsettling fact of the hotel. But then one morning he'd woken and she was still there, warm against his side and Clark hadn't known what to think. For a moment a part of him had thought maybe they were home again, back where they were meant to be. But just opening his eyes had been more than enough to assure him that was not the case. They were still in the hotel. And a part of Clark was convinced it would only be a one time thing, but then it had happened the next night and the next, and all of Lois' things were there as well, so he had to assume this was more the work of the hotel putting them back together again without explanation. This morning though something else had changed, though he didn't notice it quite so immediately as he had the warm press of Lois in his bed. It was when he stretched, one arm out to the side slowly letting himself come awake that he became more aware of the added space around them, no longer pressed against one another out of necessity and a small bed, but simply because that was what they did. Clark lifted his head looking around their room frowning at the realization that things had changed again, the second bed was gone replaced by this larger one, like the room had been meant for this the entire time. "Well this is unsettling." He murmured softly shaking his head at the realization that things had changed again without his realizing it. "I don't think I'm ever going to get used to the idea of this place switching things up on me like this." He admitted with a soft press of his lips to Lois' shoulder, still a little fuzzy with sleep but waking more and more with each passing moment. |
