"You always have a choice, maybe not a great one. My father made the choice that he'd die for the world, but got lucky. You can always make the choice to die," he said with a shrug. "I'm pretty sure that Gryffindors are born with that knowledge. The other houses don't get the same lesson at birth."
Jamie shrugged again. "I get that. I can make potions, but I also get bored. I could never do it as a job. I have the ability to do it, but not the focus. I'm not as bad as Dad with school. Head Boy, 12 OWLs and 12 NEWTs, Captain of the Quidditch team. I pretty much did it all, but potions are still boring." He snorted. "I'm pretty sure that no one can brew as well as Snape, at least if the stories are true. He also has a good decade on you."
Jamie shook his head. "No, because he's very shy. He's unlikely to argue with me. It's why he and Albus go so well together. Albus might be a Slytherin, but he's still a Potter and a Weasley. He can be sly, but he can also hex the fuck out of you without caring of the consequences. He had to learn in our family. Albus protected Scorpius plenty in school. So while I'm happy to have people agree with me, I have the entire world always agreeing with James Sirius Potter. It's nice to have someone argue with me, even when you are wrong," he ended with a grin.
