Pree smiled. "That must be why I kept getting caught." Nothing to do with picking on an organization that spanned entire systems. He liked this version of his past much better, though, and was not ashamed to adopt it, even if just for a minute or two.
"The second coat will make the color pop," he promised, taking back Dieter's hand. The color really did match his eyes. Pree made a point not to stare - for longer than a second. "But you'll have to be careful. It can chip easily. Of course, I tend to think of that as just an excuse to try another color. Or glitter. Or pearls. Thank you for indulging me, by the way.
