Ludwig Dieter didn't know if he believed in Heaven or Hell. If there was such a thing as Hell, he assumed he'd done enough breaking in to places to help people steal things in order to earn himself a place there. And if there was such a place, Dieter imagined that it was much like this: endless locked doors that he couldn't open.
He tried to read the book that Severus had given him on tinctures but it was like reading a cookbook full of things you couldn't understand how to make or eat. He was restless, but luckily he got a message from Pree, inviting him over.
He sent back a simple message saying he was on his way right now and took off, leaving the book open on his bed on a page about some kind of elderberry tincture. He had never been to Pree's room but it was easy enough to find and Dieter knocked softly on the door, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
Thank goodness for his friend and the company he gave. Dieter would be truly lost without him.
