After everything he had seen nothing should really surprise Chris anymore, but finding out that his daughter was very much alive had certainly rattled his cage a little more than he wanted to admit. Even with all of the other people he had lost in his life, losing her had certainly been the hardest one to take. She had been his world, and for a long while after her death he had been lost. Not wanting to dishonor her memory by giving up, but not knowing which route he should take. It had been hard for him, and only recently had he started to truly find his way again. Of course a big part of that new found change in his life had been all due to two very important people. Scott and Melissa had really changed everything for him. For the past several months they had been his reason for getting up and trying make the most of the time he had left. As happy as he was about having his daughter back....and having Isaac here as well, and knowing that they were happy together, Chris was also concerned about how he was going to tell Allison about these recent developments in his life. Losing her mother had been hard, and he wasn't sure how she would react to him having a relationship with another woman. He just hoped that his daughter would give him the same understanding he was trying to show himself, and give things a chance. Perhaps if she did and Melissa showed up her, his daughter would see how happy he was....for the first time in a very long time. He knew it would be awkward for her, having dated Scott herself but Chris had to believe that things would work out. He just couldn't imagine a life without Melissa and Scott in it now. He had found himself a couch to sit on in the rather large lobby, while he waited on his daughter's arrival. With all the thoughts rushing through his head he didn't hear anyone coming behind him. So, when she did arrive she actually managed to surprise him...something that wasn't easy for anyone to do. He was usually so in tune with his surroundings. |
