"I'm certainly not saying you'd do it on purpose. In fact, maybe I'm hoping you'll leave a mark on me. It would give me something to remember you by." That smile on Conrad's face had gone from light and amused to something warmer; almost affectionate. He wasn't used to being called by his first name. Even his own friends had referred to him as 'Conrad'. It left him simultaneously wanting more and a need to put distance between them. Because if he lingered in Wesley's personal space too much longer, he'd be pulling him in for a kiss in no time at all. Especially if he was going to keep saying his name.
Either way, Conrad definitely seemed less afraid to open up to Wesley. Perhaps it was because they were - quite literally - both exposed right now and there was nothing to hide behind, but Conrad liked to believe it was because he wanted Wes in his life. He wanted Wesley to know him; the good things, the bad things, and everything in-between.
But, in turn, he wanted to know about Wesley as well.
"I lost another friend recently. She must have been sent home like Carol, her name isn't showing up in my contacts list anymore. Her name was Dorothy. She played piano in the library for me. It's crazy to think that we've been here for months now and I still don't understand completely how the hotel operates. But Wes, it makes me scared to lose you. I don't want to wake up one day and find you gone." Conrad paused before he reluctantly added, "But I suppose that's selfish of me, isn't it? Do you wish you were at home in Chicago? I wouldn't blame you if you did. Chicago isn't quite as unpredictable as this place.."
