Any place that got its' jollies off snatching people and putting them in strange or awkward situations just didn't sit well with her. Even if she was enjoying herself. A little.
She laughs bitterly. "Dumbass," Kitty shot back in a tone that could almost be considered friendly. He was probably just messing with her. Again. Shadowcat wasn't known for having the best judgment as a teenager, especially when it came to the people she developed crushes on. "I'll have you know that I nearly got married, twice." Kitty knew it was a weak comeback, but his question stung more than she expected. "Oh, absolutely. Clearly there's no place I'd rather be, than naked, with you." Could he taste the snarkasm? "We might have differing meanings when it comes to quality choices."
His response visibly stunned her for a second. "I don't know what kind of offers you've been fielding, but threats tend to be more sinister in my experience," Kitty shared. "Trust you to have a food-related safeword." Probably not the best choice in last words before slamming ones' head into someones' midsection.
Kitty wondered if he thought getting hit by her would be a cakewalk, meaning the sound of him getting the wind knocked out of him was doubly satisfying. It made sense that he wound counter how he did. And it might've worked too, if she hadn't anticipated it and went semi-intangible as her back connected with the wall. He was lucky, she could have gone completely intangible and sent John slamming into the wall under his own force.
"So, is that your way of saying you want me to bite you?" Kitty questioned as she dipped her head down just enough to be in range of a sensitive area.
