It didn't matter to Kitty that he might not have been serious. She gave him every chance possible to take back his words and concede defeat against her. They had been on both the same and opposite sides of enough conflicts for him to know that when she put her mind to something, she became relentless. It probably didn't help that she once had Wolverine as a mentor, so she had experience in staking out a situation and biding her time until an opportunity presented itself. A person had to have the patience of a saint to deal with Wolvie even on his good days.
Maturity came with a focus that served her well. And yet she was still childish enough to find this whole situation amusing.
It was strangely soothing, the sound of his pacing around his room. Having honed her senses to the point where she learned how to block out the majority of outside noises so she could concentrate on just one, she was finding a sense of rhythm in his movements. And all things considered, St. John Allerdyce might not realize it, but he was in for a big surprise if he still thought she was a little too soft to be an effective fighter.
Even though in her mind she had already gotten the upper hand, Kitty had to admit the anticipation was making seeing her plot come to fruition all the sweeter. There was a beauty in the breakdown, a little too aware that despite all her planning he wasn't someone to be discounted. Ignoring her nudity like any good warrior would, she wasn't concerned about that particular factor- Kitty had endured weirder conditions when fighting. John certainly wouldn't let having his bits flopping about hold him back. If she wasn't taking this as seriously as she could, his stopping right near where she was hidden might have her laughing. His muttering had Shadowcat smirking. He was on edge. It felt good knowing she caused it.
Striking fast, her hand emerged, fingers gripping his ankle to transfer her intangibility to him as she yanked- hard. Letting go as he was pulled through the floor, she waited for him to land before pouncing on him with one foot resting just shy of his sac. "Boo."
