wesley and bev
More awkward? Honestly, this was as awkward as it got. Wesley wouldn't have thought it weird of her, especially given the depressing subject of their current conversation. But he understood the need to keep things polite between them. Personal space was still a thing. If he'd been able to read her thoughts, he would have been touched by her sincerity. Something like that had been rare in his life. It was still something to get used to.
"I got my friend back too. It was just ...days later when everyone else came back. I'd only been here a few weeks when we were dropped there. I didn't know that people could come back. I don't know what I would have done if Conrad hadn't come back." He shook his head, not wanting to go over those thoughts again.
It was weird having people genuinely want to talk to him. Not just start conversations but offer help. "Thanks, I might be coming to you a lot then. I don't have any visions but I get some gnarly nightmares. Especially after I eat too much pizza." Rats? What an even more unpleasant thought. That they were just stuck here being used. "Let's hope we're not falling for some magical cheese."
