He had his mouth full when he heard the shout. Wes scrunched up his face, closing his eyes and turned his face away from the pool to avoid the inevitable splash. When none came, he slowly opened his eyes and realized he'd been duped. Half-chewing, half-swallowing, he turned again to see who had played the joke. He spotted the smiling redhead with the eyes full of mischief easily. Wes snorted and finished chewing. "Alright, you got me. Good one. I was ready to go down."
Wes was sitting on the edge with his legs dangling in the water. "Water's fine. Food's fine. I'll have to tell you about the soda later when I can get some. I haven't eaten all day so this was kind of top priority," he held up the huge plate of snacks that he'd snatched from the food table. "Wesley. Am I in your way?" That was his first thought to the reason why she was calling attention to him. The pool wasn't packed with people but maybe he'd stolen her spot by accident.
