Jaskier had been safe and sound the whole time. It was a comfort to know that at last. Geralt was still upset but not with Jaskier. Especially when the bard made it clear how much he had missed him and that he had at least tried to get back or find some way to reach him. It was still hard to hear about all the fun Jaskier had without him. But he smiled anyway as he listened. "You can speak with me now. I want to hear everything." Which sounded like the last thing Geralt would ever say but he meant it. Just because he was upset over a situation neither of them could control, that didn't mean that he wasn't going to pester Jaskier for every detail. He wanted to know. Seeing life through Jaskier's eyes had helped to open his eyes, to see and understand in a way he hadn't before. Or had just forgotten.
It was a relief to finally have him back though and now that Geralt knew it was really Jaskier and not just an illusion, he couldn't get enough of the man. Geralt pressed himself as tight as he could into Jaskier. "If I had my way ..." What he wanted to say was that he'd never let the bard out of his sight again. Though it sounded romantic, it also made him sound more possessive than he wanted to be. Jaskier wasn't chained to his side. Obviously there would be times they would be apart and Geralt would miss every moment that they were. As long as it was under their control. Not another's. And it wasn't just himself that had been affected.
"I would always want you close by," Geralt admitted softly, those wet brown eyes making his insides become hot and angry. Even if this other hotel sounded even nicer than this one, not being able to have the chance to even communicate with each other had to have been difficult. It was mean and unnecessary.
He sighed, then bumped his nose into Jaskier's chin like a needy cat. "There could be something. If there is, Yennefer would know of it."
The mention of Yennefer prompted a memory of one of their recent conversations. Geralt chuckled. "You'll be happy to know that I did not get rid of your dolls in your absence."
