Before, he would have hated becoming attached to someone to the point where the mere loss of their presence made him sick with worry and dread. It was silly. It was risky. It made him blind and desperate. He'd been patient, waiting for some sign from the hotel and yes, he'd been rewarded but what if happened again? What if instead of almost two weeks, Jaskier was gone for two months? Geralt knew he wouldn't have been able to sit and wait for that long. Even if it had meant breaking whatever magical foundation this hotel was on, he would have found a way get Jaskier back.
"I hope you at least slept somewhere comfortable while I was here alone and sick with worry." Geralt lifted his head and nuzzled his nose right up into the soft bits of Jaskier's neck. The glasses got in his way of his sniffing and nipping so he leaned back again to take them off. Once he did, he looked them over again now that he realized it was a gift. "The humans in Cancun, they wear these?" He was impressed by their simplicity. True, he wouldn't need them but he didn't think they were as gharish as most of the things Jaskier wore. He decided he liked them and set them gently on the bed out of the way. He was smiling when he turned back. "I would have liked to have been there with you. Or at least known you were safe. I guess I worried for nothing. You look like you're all in one piece." Light words for someone who had moped in their room for almost two weeks.
He didn't know why Jaskier moved his fingers over his shoulders like that but like music to the savage beast, its familiar tune soothed him. But it was Jaskier's words that really pleased him. At first, he didn't know how to reply. Words would never be his strength. But he could show Jaskier what it meant to him; not just having him back, but what it meant that Jaskier had wanted to come back. To him. He wrapped his fingers around the front of Jaskier's top and pulled, catching Jaskier's lips with his own. The bard did taste like the sun, the beach and something very fruity.
