Lifting himself out of the water and onto Poe's surfboard took some effort. There was definitely some unflattering slipping and sliding in there. But once he was straddling the board, he settled across from Poe, his palms flat upon the surface for balance.
Initially, he didn't say anything about the comment regarding being jealous. Armitage's instinct told him to deny it. Or deflect. And if it were anyone else on that surfboard with him, he absolutely would have done one of those things. But maybe, his better half deserved to know if something was actually bothering him. So, after a minute or two of nervously drumming his fingers upon the surfboard, he gave a defeated shrug.
"I suppose wedding rings mean nothing to some people," he huffed. Although, maybe they didn't mean anything here. Armitage certainly didn't know the local customs of Cancun. His tone naturally softened as he looked at Poe, wondering if his husband was bothered by the territorial display. "..should I not be?"
