If Conrad had to guess, the man on the other side of the door was likely the neighbor that had been knocking on the wall earlier. And, chances were, he wasn't too thrilled about the noise. There certainly wasn't any hotel staff to complain to, so maybe he came over to take care of the matter himself.
Only.. he really didn't sound all that angry. Annoyed, maybe. But he wasn't making threats. He hadn't even mentioned the television, which caused Conrad's heart to sink a little more. The Brit already knew he was being a selfish jerk. But now, he was being a selfish jerk to someone who didn't deserve to hear that damn TV. With a reluctant sigh, he finally turned the knob and cracked open the door, careful not to open it too wide. Conrad even intentionally tried to position himself so that the other man couldn't see in - and probably failed at that. Conrad was more than just a little tipsy at this point so his balance wasn't great.
"I, ah.. Do you mind if I keep the TV on for just a little longer? It helps to distract me."
