Rey wasn't particularly obtuse, but sometimes you just needed things spelled out for you. She was thankful for his direct words and his admission of not having the same experiences. Some might find it disheartening that Luke would not have all the answers, but while it was frustrating that there was no easy fix, she already knew that. She was sitting down here in front of him for guidance and that's what he was giving her now. It was a good outside perspective to her dilemma, and it was what she needed.
By now, she'd stopped fidgeting. While the worry still simmered in her gut, she was a little bit more at ease. "Droids get upset too," she said suddenly. They could even go so far as exact revenge, but she understood his meaning. "I guess I could learn from them," she said a moment later. Their unique personalities were engaging. She knew it wasn't what Luke meant, but it was worth noting, considering how much time she spent with the little robots.
"Thank you for listening to my problems, Master," she said with a sigh. She knew it wasn't something she could fix immediately, but she was definitely getting there. She wouldn't have even thought of talking about all this openly months ago. "I will think about what you said and take a look at the books."
