Luke listening was good. She needed that. She'd aired out most of her feelings with Armitage before, but ever since she saw his face at that dinner... Rey hadn't exactly sought him out for comfort. Now that he was gone, she was feeling really shitty about that. They should have at least had some sort of real conversation. That didn't help matters either, especially when it came to feelings of guilt.
She stopped tapping her knees and squeezed them a minute, letting out an audible sigh. "Yes. I had to let 9E out of Tage's room so he wouldn't be trapped and lonely and very confused but yes. And we're taking care of Ari." The bird was clearly upset that Ben kept leaving her as well. On that level, she and the firebird understood each other. "But usually people are only gone for four hours," she said rubbing her arms. This was way more than one or two people and it had been way past four hours.
She thought about Valentine's Day for a moment, but that had mostly been all the children and a few adults. She'd been way more preoccupied with other things at the time and by the next day, everything was fine. It helped to focus on how crazy the hotel was than the actual problem, but she managed to swing her focus back over to what she was really trying to say.
"When I first met you," there was a pause, before she clarified, "in the future, when you're older. You asked me to reach out and I went straight for the dark. When I'm... It feels so easy to just to..." Her hand stopped and squeezed her arms. "I don't want to lose myself or hurt anyone." She'd said as much to Poe and to Finn, but it was different.
