"There are ghosts inside the hotel, but I'm pretty sure we're not dead? People have actually died while we've been here and were resurrected. I don't think that would be possible if we had already passed on.." Unless being double-dead was a thing. Which, around the Crown Plaza, might just be possible.
Steve led Darcy down a corridor, heading in the direction of the kitchen. "I've been here since January. Although, I'm not so sure that the passage of time really matters here. Doctor Strange could probably explain it better than I can, but he tells me we're in a pocket dimension. Everything that happens here doesn't impact our respective realities at all. And when we leave, we don't remember being here."
Which Steve personally found to be disappointing, but perhaps not everyone shared that opinion..
"And there are other Avengers, but they might not be the same as you remember them? Hawkeye, for example. He's.. he's still Clint Barton, but he's not the one that we know, if that makes sense?"
Steve paused, nudging the kitchen door open. "Here's some good news, though. The fridge is always stocked. Food just sort of.. appears and we never run out. The bad news is that you still have to cook. Fully-made spaghetti won't appear on it's own, unfortunately."
