Wes loved Halloween. He liked it better than Christmas. Mostly because Christmas was a more family oriented holiday and since family wasn't really a thing with him, he'd spent most of December drunk. But Halloween? It was all about the costumes. It was the one night he could pretend to be someone else and not have it be weird.
He had to hold onto her hand for a little bit and he was grateful for the balance. But once he was able to skate on his own, he let go. She probably wasn't that big on touching a stranger anyway. Ice skating was, thankfully, not that different from roller skating. He had to focus a little more but once he trusted the blades, he was able to confidently glide across the ice.
"Sounds like most of my life. It's funny how you can surround yourself with people and still feel lonely. I was in a relationship for a couple of years and was miserable for most of it. Now I'm just ...kinda done with that stuff." Love. Romance. Relationships. It hadn't worked out well for him in the past and he was over it. He looked back at her. "If you wanted to talk, you can talk my ears off. I can't offer any good advice though."
