The kitchen was still there, no one had lost a limb. And in the end, given the limited supply that they had, they had a surprising number of fireworks to set off. Sure, it wasn't going to be a display to rival anything a city could put on. But it was enough. They’d set up the fireworks outside the Hotel, but far enough away from the backyard patio that people were grilling food to be safe. Everyone outside (or looking outside in this direction) would be able to see the fireworks go off. The fireworks were spaced apart, all in a neat array. Anakin and Ben had also made sure there was nothing in the immediate vicinity surrounding the fireworks that might catch fire. They enjoyed a good explosion, but they weren’t being fools about the safety of others (enough people had expressed their concern about this that they couldn’t ignore), and the care they take to ensure that safety is clear. When there was just a thin line of light on the horizon and the stars started blanketing the sky, they felt it was time to set off the fireworks. Most of the fireworks were simple, in all honesty, all the same color, red, small bursts of light, and a loud pop and sizzle. But that was because of the limited elements they had to work with. However, by pacing when they set them off just right, they had enough to last a minute with one bigger firework for the finale. Anakin and Ben watched diligently to make sure none of their creations went awry, ready with the Force to keep things from getting out of hand. But none of the fireworks went rogue (too much), they all set off beautifully, generally straight up into the sky. Some had a wobbly trajectory but still went in an upward direction and burst a far and safe distance above everyone. Ari did a great job at sparking them off, even if the timing of a few wasn’t perfect. And the final one was a great big finish for the night. |
