IT was the middle of the night and once again Duncan found himself unable to sleep. Without clear parameters of his duties and place in the world, he was left feeling unmoored in a way he had never been in either of his lifetimes. Sure he had signed up for the guard duty and that helped but only on the days when it was his turn to patrol the hotel and grounds. This was unfortunately for him not one of those nights and he found himself up wandering the halls.
Like many people who woke in the middle of the night, Duncan eventually found his way to the kitchen. He wasn't particularly hungry but he had found there was a regularly available tea that often helped to soothe his nerves. What he wouldn't give for some spice beer or a bottle of Caladanian wine but he knew the odds of finding either one of those in this kitchen was next to nil. He wasn't even sure either of them existed yet.
He was a little bit lost in his thoughts as he walked into the kitchen and turned the corner to find a mess before him and a single person sitting in the middle of it all. His eyes darted around as he took note of the entire scene before his attention turned back to the man on the ground. "Did you at least find what you were seeking?"
