"I don't know magic so I guess the hotel wanted people like me to be able to do things too. The stove is just easier than starting a fire all the time." Ned supposed what he could do was technically magic, but it was more reflex than anything he did on purpose. He had a feeling that wasn't the sort of magic this man was talking about. "Is that why...you usually use magic?" He asked, figuring that would make a lot of sense.
Eventually, when the kettle was starting to make some noise but wasn't yet whistling, Ned would take a few pieces of bread from the bag and show Regulus the toaster. "It does most of it for you, you just have to set his dial to how brown you want it." He would stop short though, when they got back to the jam. It was one he had made and Regulus had managed to get some on the outside, if Ned touched it again it would rot. "You could probably figure out the jam, yeah?"
