Sirius stood there and let James just look at him and see the toll time had taken on him, how much the loss had taken from him in all the years that had passed since James and Lily had been killed. He could still see though that James didn't want to believe it despite what he was seeing with his own eyes.
"Because he's a sniveling little coward." He spat the words, years of hatred and spite built up within him leaving none of the love he'd ever had for his one time friend. Because he'd trusted Peter too, he'd thought he was the better choice to protect James and Lily, but he'd been wrong and it was his fault that they were dead. "They guessed it was him, and he gave you up without even putting up a fight, he's one of them now." Well for all that there was a them anymore, by all accounts Voldemort had been gone, and after what Jamie told him he was well and truly gone along with all of his followers.
"You can't go back Prongs." He said feeling defeated, his voice quiet and full of all the ache he had within him for his friend. "There's nothing to go back to."
