"That's good to know," she said with a smile. She had no doubt that he'd probably pull one over on someone who was being a jerk, but that was just who Matt was and it wasn't something she was going to call him out for.
"It could just be us taking it personal. I mean - I'm not exactly the biggest believer in coincidences, but....it could have been coincidence that we went there." She ached to know how and why any of this at all was happening, but there were too many questions, and not enough ways to find answers. She'd already spent hours in the library since her arrival, but most of what she'd found so far hadn't really helped all that much.
Karen frowned a little as she studied his face, before setting the cue stick aside and stepping a little closer so that she could take his hands in hers. "Matt - you haven't done anything you deserve to be punished for. Not here, and not at home - you don't deserve to have something bad or awful to happen to you. And Foggy and I don't deserve to see something bad happen to you," she added before squeezing one of his hands softly. "Trust me on that."
Honestly, if anyone here deserved to pay for something they'd done, it was her for killing James Wesley.
