At first, Diana wasn’t following. “What they did” was a job, protecting the humans around them because otherwise, they would be in danger. It was part of what had originally formed their bond, though a very small part. But Thor continued, and then she understood. She knew he was right, that this was abnormal, even for the humans, but she supposed that also depended on the context of their relationship... which they had never discussed. And she nodded, showing him that she had heard him, taking a moment to consider. There was much at risk here, the friendship they’d formed and the tenuous peace that they had found together.
Nothing ventured was nothing gained, and while Diana calculated every risk she took, some days it just came down to being bad at math. She desperately hoped this was not one of those days as her eyes met his again, and she answered his question.
“I have been very aware of our behavior, and every line we might have crossed,” she said lightly, and she raised a hand to his face, nervous but steady despite that. “I did not cross any of them without wanting to. We are friends, to be sure, and if that is all you’d have, then that is better than nothing. But that is not all I would have of you.”
