Diana had lived amongst the humans during the seventies and eighties, when disco and roller skates had gone so very well together, and even better, most of the humans were too high out of their minds to notice if Diana squeezed a cup and broke it, or did some other impossible physical feat in roller skates. That time had faded, as far as humanity had been concerned, and Diana had let it fade from her life as well, but that had done absolutely nothing to assuage her excitement when she’d realized there was a roller rink here.
After all, who was going to form a mob against her here? Most of them either weren’t human or stood close enough to not quite count anyway, as far as the way they looked at the world, and Diana found she quite liked that. She supposed it was just a continuation of that old adage, that a person was smart and people were stupid. Diana did not know if Amazons or Gods were excepted from that. Given the decoration at the back of her shirt, Diana had gathered all her long hair up into a ponytail at the crown of her head, smoothing it down and making sure it held fast. So when she turned her face back toward Thor and away from the skates on display, her ponytail swept over the other side of her shoulder, and she smiled.
“Oh, good! This will be fun, then.” And she nodded, realizing he’d asked her a question. “Yes. It was a very big deal for the humans back in the seventies and eighties, and it was very fun. It’s fallen a bit out of favor since then.”
Diana took a few steps away from him, much as she disliked doing so, and snagged a pair of roller skates for herself. She liked the skates, not the roller blades. She took a nearby seat and toed off her sneakers so that she could put her skates on instead, tying them carefully. “And I came here some time ago with Kal as well. It was also fun.”
