Thor found that he couldn't sit still these days, after the whole 'death' thing. If he did, he would start thinking about the experience and remember how it felt, and that would be very, very bad. He'd tried to stay busy, training or helping Diana, or even just being around her. Today was a training day though, outside with Stormbreaker going to town on the biggest trees he could find. It would keep his skills relatively sharp, at least, and gave him something to focus on besides the reality of the oblivion waiting for him. He'd seen on the network that others went through something similar, but it wasn't as if they'd shared their experiences.
Elektra came to mind as one who'd fallen and returned. Maybe reaching out to her at some point wouldn't be a bad idea, but that would mean acknowledging and facing this. And Thor wasn't sure he was ready to do that exactly. He took a big chunk out of the tree in front of him, for a second falling back into the moment he'd taken Thanos's head on Titan five years earlier. Eyes closed as the axe connected with the wood, Thor let out a shaky breath, nearly jumping out of his skin as he felt his phone go off. He was all too happy to see it was Diana, offering up her company and a distraction.
He'd agreed to meet her, of course. Whether he knew it or not, he wouldn't have said no to her for anything in the world. Part of him was very aware of it, of her, but he didn't acknowledge that yet, choosing instead to just enjoy the small moments together, the soothing presence and the way her voice could calm him. Truly a Beauty and the Beast situation, similar to Natasha and the power she'd held over Banner, once upon a time in another life. He didn't ask what had happened there the few times he'd seen her. It wasn't his business and he didn't want to know. For now, distractions! Or rather, Diana and what was absolutely not a date, again.
Anyone on the outside knew it was.
Thor took some time to clean himself up, a shower and a change of clothes, then he made his way downstairs. He'd kept it as casual as he could there, as he often did, a black t-shirt, jeans and his regular boots. That was all he really needed. It was easy to move in and comfortable, perfect for what Diana wanted to do today. He'd beaten her there, but only by a minute or two, and stood looking around as the music pumped into his ears as well. This was one human experience he hadn't ever quite gotten around to, even in 12 years living mostly on Midgard. When Diana came in, she was radiant, of course. If she hadn't told him she was a princess, he would have had no trouble guessing that fact about her.
She was too loud, too boisterous, but that just meant she was happy to see him. He smiled back at her, just as pleased as she stepped in close, not stepping away from that hug until she did. Of course, he took note that her skin was soft under his hand when he touched her arm, as was the fabric of her shirt where he'd hugged her. Something sparkled on her, though he couldn't see what exactly, and then she spoke.
"No, I've not. Someone got me to try hockey once, but never in this setting and not since my earliest days on Midgard. Have you?"
