Armitage snickered at the comment. It wasn't like this was news. He was aware that he could be very house cat. Maybe a little too much. "Am I? I'm sorry. I don't mean to be so.. aloof. Old habits die hard, I suppose. But I hope you know I'd never intentionally be distant with you, Poe." He leaned back, just enough for those green eyes to meet with his husband's beautiful brown irises. "I love you."
Which might have come out a touch more emotional than he had intended. He had already lost Ben for a week. Nearly losing Poe as well in such a short span of time had shaken him far more than he was letting on. Those emotional walls of his were built up so high, Armitage continuously had to work to bring them back down again.
Something he was currently in the process of doing because he could tell he was going to have to work a little harder to pull Poe back to the present. Which was reasonable. Poe had just spent a long time back in their version of reality. Poe even still smelled like wherever he'd come from. Which wasn't a bad smell. It was just a reminder that Poe had briefly been taken from him, which Armitage wasn't terribly happy about.
His fingers then crept up beneath Poe's shirt, much like his husband had done with his own top. He wasn't pushing for anything sexual, necessarily. It was intimacy that he craved. To feel their bodies together, to feel Poe's skin against his own. "I'm not so sure that I'll be very house cat-like in the near future. I daresay you might have the opposite issue: you might see me too often. I can't.. I can't lose you."
