As wonderful as it was to have Poe close, Armitage still managed to tense up at the mention of Palpatine. So that meant.. A cold uneasiness washed over him; a feeling that Armitage would quickly brush aside. It would have been all too easy to fall down that hole. To wallow in self pity, despite having already come to terms with his own death back in their world. This wasn't about Armitage. This was about Poe. This was about them. Comforting his husband was far more important than anything else.
"I'm not so sure you have a choice in that matter, dear. I'm just glad you came back to me. Well, to all of us. But mostly me." There was warmth in those green eyes as he spoke. He didn't particularly want to contemplate the heartbreaking alternatives to their circumstances. He was content to simply have Poe back in bed with him. Armitage leaned away again, studying the other man's face.
"So, the last time you saw me, I was freeing you from those clunky First Order restraints.." Armitage's hand then followed Poe's up his shirt, his fingertips sweeping over his husband's knuckles. He wondered if there was any freshly-renewed conflict within Poe; if seeing him as a General so recently complicated things between them. "Is it.. odd? Being here with me after.. all of that?"
