He was fighting it. Stars, he was fighting it. Armitage had already been through one or two emotional displays lately and he truly disliked letting his feelings get the best of him. But the tears were already welling up in his eyes. Poe was so warm against him. And for a moment there, Armitage had been worried he'd never feel those soft curls against his skin ever again. The relief of his husband being back in his arms was so intense, it took every ounce of willpower left in him not to collapse into a sobbing mess.
And Poe had the audacity to apologize. Armitage let out a gentle laugh, leaning back just enough to look Poe in the face. "Don't be ridiculous. You have nothing to apologize for."
Because, presumably, Poe's disappearance was hotel related. Poe didn't seem like the sort to just run off for the sake of dramatics. Armitage then pulled away a little further, looking his husband over. "Well.. you look like you're all in one piece. What happened?"
