Oh -- time was so weird and fuzzy and Poe felt a little bit like he was in two places at once but he'd never forget just how long it had taken to get to the point with Armitage where hugs were as common place as carpet burn on his knees. Maybe it was why he liked them so much -- along with the fact that Poe just ... liked being close to his husband no matter what.
He couldn't believe he'd been able to spend any time without him somewhere else. Or that if and when he eventually went back there, unless they found a way to change the course of their lives, he'd have to do it all the time.
Poe leaned up enough to tuck his chin onto Armitage's shoulder, hugged him back for all he was worth. "Sorry," he said, muffled into his shoulder, and meant it, because Armitage had had a rough few weeks, and of anyone, Poe had never wanted to make it worse.
