Eddie might play at his anger, but they both knew it wasn't anything like he would say. Any anger he did have had been replaced by grief and hope and then, eventually, relief. And maybe there was some guilt there he wasn't going to talk about just yet, because not only had he not been there to help in the first place, after Richie had died he'd had the thought to go out but when he got to the door he'd been too scared to actually go out. He wouldn't have been able to get back at what did that to him.
"All the time." Whether it had been a joke or not, Eddie laughed softly anyway, because he did think Richie was funny. He just also knew that the more he pretended he wasn't the harder Richie would try and Eddie liked that attention focused on him. "You only win when you cheat."
Eddie was just as attached to Richie's hand cupping his jaw and cheek but the idea of there being less between them was the slightest bit more appealing, "Pretty good if you get on with it." he teased, his mouth wandering to press slow, open-mouthed kisses along the side of his face.
