This place had dealt its share of blows to Clarke. First, it had been so good. It had not only given her Lexa back, but she also had Madi. They'd been a family and Clarke couldn't remember a time she'd been as happy as that had made her. It had been everything. Her friends were here, too. They'd started adjusting to these Earth traditions she'd never had a chance to experience before. They'd celebrated holidays and started making traditions of their own. Then, slowly, little by little, things started changing. People started to disappear. As bad as that sucked, they'd still had each other.
Until Lexa was gone.
Losing Lexa again had really knocked Clarke for a loop. She'd watched her die once, but here, she'd had her back. But she still had Mad and she had to be strong for her daughter. They still had each other and Clarke had poured all her focus and energy into that. Everyone had gone back but the two of them. And now, Madi was gone too. Clarke felt lost. Madi wasn't her blood daughter but, she'd been her daughter nonetheless. And now, she was gone. Clarke had no one. She had officially lost everyone.
And in typical hotel fashion, something fucked up was happening. Which would be good for distraction, except right now, all Clarke wanted to do was get drunk and forget everything for a while.
Thankfully, a new friend who'd arrived since she'd been in her haze of grief, was willing to help with that.
Clarke made her way to the bar to meet up with Octane. He'd seemed nice enough on the network and right now, that felt like exactly what she needed. The bar was empty when she'd arrived and there had been deep contemplation of going ahead and drinking on her own, but instead, Clarke had waited. But not for long. Octane showed up soon after and his fun, silly attitude had her actually smiling for the first time in weeks.
"The place can be confusing. But you found it, right? That's what matters."
Resting her elbows on the bar, Clarke tilted her head and studied him, a slow grin spreading.
"Surprise me. If you've got it all, maybe we should try it all?"
Tonight was definitely going to be an interesting night.
