M.O.D.O.D.K. scuttled off into the distance, vowing revenge but not putting up much of a fight. Without his usual goons, the floating head in a chair never was very tough. Thor brought Stormbreaker back up onto his shoulder turning to Ares. The look on Diana's face was deeply troubling, as he'd never seen anything shake her like that. The way the man spoke, though, made what he already suspected that much clearer. Thor took a few steps closer, looking far bigger and more confident than he felt in that moment.
"I take it you're Ares, then? Diana has told me about you. Couldn't stay dead, I see." Thor closed the gap between himself and the pair of them, coming to stand by Diana's side, protective. She could handle herself, but this was what they were here for, sharing each other's burdens. Diana had seen Thor around Hela, had been helpful and supportive, and Thor owed it to her to do the same. Still wearing Sir Patrick Morgan's face, Ares offered an evil grin, inclining his head from Diana to Thor.
"Well then, that saves us some time, doesn't it?" Ares was calm as he spoke to Thor. "If she's told you about me, I suppose we can begin. Why not join me? And convince my little sister to do the same?"
Thor shook his head at that, shifting the axe from his shoulder back into his hands. "I don't think so. You've haunted Diana's dreams long enough. It's time for you to go back where you came from."
