"Okay, you have a point," Scott admitted with a begrudging frown. From the way they'd gone to town on him he suspected they had a pretty good idea what he was. "So, take anything they say with a pinch of salt?" he said with a nod at Ladybug.
He watched as she started to look for the shutters, but the blinds would have to do. "Easier to get out if we have to," he said by way of mitigation. Maybe blocking one of their exits with steel wasn't Scott's best plan, but he was working hard to keep moving right now.
When he heard Ladybug's question he met her eyes and felt guilty that he'd got her involved in any of this. "I'm sorry," he said with a shake of his head, "but they're not going to stop. Either we get back to the hotel or we die," Scott said flatly. "So, let's make sure we get back, huh?" he said as he pulled himself to his feet and moved to the back of the shop to see what was back there. Maybe weapons, or if there was another exit, they could circle back out and around?
