Using the ODM gear wasn't a thing that Levi thought he'd ever forget how to do, no matter little he'd used it the last few months. It was practically part of him now, the grapples and wires built into his body, nerves and veins as much as blood and bone.
Momentarily, as he soared high, foot rocking against the side of a building to propel him ever forward, he was sad for both himself and Erwin in a way that he'd never properly be able to put to words. He hated this -- the Titans that were surely around any building coming up now. He hated this, and neither of them should have to do it anymore because they'd put in their time.
But he loved it too, a little bit. The way that the gear made him feel like he was flying and the feeling that settled deep, deep in his stomach. Nothing else was sure in this place and Levi had found no hidden talent in the hotel. But this? This was something no one else could do with as much talent or grace as him. It was almost a relief to have something so familiar.
A terrible relief though.
He paused on a building top, feet light, balance perfect and then turned around to watch Erwin until he settled beside him.
